Explanations: Getting Explanations That Fit

by: John Haysom

This chapter deals with “getting explanations that fit.” When scientists do experiments, they try to explain their findings by connecting the results to what they already know. When they encounter a new happening—or phenomena—they try to fit it in with the explanations they have already developed. Some phenomena or happening challenges for students to develop and confirm explanations are provided in this chapter.
