Scientists and Engineers Are EXPERIMENTERS

by: Donna Farland-Smith and Julie Thomas

In this lesson, students learn that scientists and engineers are experimenters. They read about Michael Faraday in the book Burn: Michael Faraday’s Candle, by Darcy Pattison. After reading, students will use the modified CER framework to discuss changes in the state of matter. This book selection highlights the practice of engaging in argument from evidence, and it includes the Table of Contents, Foreword, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, and Index.
