This article really defines the importance of student led questions. In order for students to truly engage in what they are learning, they need to be curious about the topic. The role of teachers is to get them engaged and curios about what they are learning. From there students will start asking their own questions and then they will want to engage in finding the answers. When students come up with their own questions, they are more likely to want to discover the answers becuase they are the ones who are wondering. I really love how the author explains the importance of student generated questions, and it really pushed me to see the importance.

When teaching kids, especially in Science we always want to see what they know first, before we start teaching. I think this article does a great job justifying that and making it known that kids enjoy speaking their minds and figuring things out on their own first. When students are prompted to ask questions and given the proper time to think about questions, the opportunities are endless for beneficial discussions. I think that this article makes it seem very easy and doable in my future classroom.
